The Valuable Object

If you were to ask people if they have faith the majority of them will say yes. But when you ask them what they have faith in you will get a variety of answers. A person can have all kinds of faith but it will mean nothing if they are not placing their faith in a valuable object. Putting your faith in the wrong thing can be disastrous.

You can say you have faith in your boat but if your boat has a hole in it, no matter how much faith you can muster up that boat is going to sink. Or you can say you have all the faith in the world that the brakes on your car will hold as you drive down the side of the mountain but if your brake line is broken and all the brake fluid drains out your car will careen down that mountain and your faith will not be able to stop it.

Faith, if it is to have any value must be in a valuable object. That object must be completely trustworthy. Jesus Christ is worthy of your faith because He is trustworthy. You can have confidence that His Word is true. To have faith in anyone else would be disastrous. Jesus said "I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No one comes to the Father but by Me."

Jesus is the one we must put our faith in to get to Heaven.
